It's going to be hot in Burkina... This is taken from the weather station at Dori, just up the road from Gorom-Gorom.

Flying visits
Lynne has two weeks break from her studies coming up, and we will be using it to make some flying visits, including a week in Burkina Faso!
After that we will be back to Scotland and Wales for a few days:
2-9 April: Burkina Faso
This is a very short trip, but there is a lot going on at the moment, and we feel we really need to get to Gorom-Gorom to keep a handle on all that is developing:
- Gorom-Gorom School Building has started on the teachers' housing for the Gorom-Gorom School. We also hope that building will start on the first three classrooms before we go out in July, and we will be pursuing discussions to facilitate this. We want to see how the building is going, and catch up with how the two existing classes of children are progressing in their studies.
- "Our" House and Office. Building has also started on the house and office in the Gorom-Gorom Ministry Centre that is to become our home. It will be great to see it taking shape!
- Church Partnerships and Ongoing Ministry. Seydou, Pierre, Pascal, Adama, Samuel, Jean, and the other pastor-missionaries are continuing to reach out into their communities. Some of them had a great week of outreach recently into some Songhai villages where new cell churches are starting. Two new pastors-missionaries are preparing to move into the area. Another pastor is starting Aids awareness campaigns together with the local health centre. We want to continue to support them in all they are doing, and find ways of improving the communication and links with the churches that are partnered with them in the UK, US, and France.
- Accounts and Admin The end of the financial year is approaching, and we need to make sure we have a good handle on how we are doing financially.
10-18 April: UK
We will be back to visit our home churches in Scotland first, then Wales, just for a few days in each:
- 11 April: speaking at Mossvale Community Church, Paisley
- 18 April: speaking at Glenwood Church, Cardiff
We value your prayers for this time. Thank you.

Gorom-Gorom School Update
Here are photos of the two classes of children at Gorom-Gorom School, with their teachers. Please continue to pray for them:

Building has already started on the teachers' housing, and we are hoping to have the first three classrooms built in time for the new school year in October. Please pray that we can get all this done quickly and well. Thank you.

Songhai Success

The recent week of evangelism was a success, as Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou continue their outreach to nearby Songhai villages.
Pascal, Pierre, and Seydou were accompanied by John Wallingford, who is co-ordinating efforts by a group of Christians in the US to support this work reaching out to the Songhai villages of Oudalan province in Burkina Faso. John reports: “Every village we entered was open, and there are many who listened very attentively to the presentation of the Gospel. I am convinced that there are many hungry hearts in the villages.”

Sida Videos
Two short films by well-known Burkinabe film director Idrissa Ouedraogo as part of the Aids awareness campaign in Burkina Faso. In these and many other short films, Ouedraogo uses humour and Burkina culture to get his message across.
Conseils d'une Tante. Nina's aunt gives her some great advice about men and their predatory instincts...
Le Guerrier. A warrior hears that "Sida" is threatening the village and, thinking it is a human enemy, goes off to fight.

St Montan and Ray Charles
Our day off yesterday, Lynne and I continued our exploration of the area. We went first to a lovely little village called St Montan. These photos do not do it justice:

And down an alleyway, la Rue de la Poterie (see above), we found there the Ray Charles Salon de Thé (tea-rooms).
Actually nothing to do with the singer, this delightful little place has just been open a month. it is run by a very friendly lady called Corinne in memory of her grandparents Raymonde and Charles.
If you are visiting the Ardeche this year, St Montan and the Ray Charles tea rooms are well worth a visit.
And afterwards, we continued on for a drive through the Ardeche, passing St Peter's Church in Lamas:

And then some magnificent scenery along the river:

Evangelism in Songhai Villages
This week, Pascal, Seydou, and Pierre will be receiving a team from America to join with them in a week of evangelism in the Songhai villages where they have been working around Gorom-Gorom.
Pierre (right), Pascal, and Seydou are regularly visiting a number of Songhai villages, where people are wanting to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. Please pray for this week of evangelism. Thank you.

More France photos
In keeping with our decision to take one day a week away from studies and work, and explore the area, here are a few more photos from France from the last couple of weeks:
