Squatting is good for you

Hamadou came to visit today. Yes the card-playing Hamadou whose baby was so thoroughly insulted back in October! The baby is fine - visiting Gorom-Gorom with his mother right now. And Hamadou is fine, too. We have not had a game of Aztec yet - it needs two packs and I only brought back one pack with me. How silly of me.

I went to see my house in Hong Kong this afternoon, and the work there seems to be progressing well. They are building a wall around the yard, and digging a pit for the shower to drain into. The 'shower' is actually just a little room with a concrete floor where I shall be pouring beakers of water over my head from a bucket. The toilet is also just a hole in the ground. I say 'just' but did you know that squatting is good for you? Well, now you do.
